Work in the EU
The political leadership and officials at the Ministry of Finance take part in the work of the EU Council for Economic and Financial Affairs (ECOFIN).
EU cooperation in the Ministry of Finance's spheres of responsibility mainly relate to the following areas:
- Financial markets
- EU budget issues
- Economic policy
- Economic reforms
- Tax issues
Minister for Finance's participation in the EU
The Minister for Finance takes part in the meetings of EU finance ministers. These meetings are held some ten times a year within the framework of the EU Council for Economic and Financial Affairs.
Sweden's Permanent Representation to the EU in Brussels
The Ministry of Finance also has special attachés who serve at the Permanent Representation of Sweden to the European Union in Brussels.
