European Maritime Day puts focus on maritime policy
On 21-22 May, the major European event European Maritime Day (EMD) will take place in Gothenburg. It is the fifth annual exhibition of maritime policyin the EU and this year's theme is 'Sustainable growth from oceans, seas and coasts: blue growth'. The event is being arranged by the Ministry of Enterprise, Energy and Communications, Region Västra Götaland and the City of Gothenburg, and will be opened by Minister for Infrastructure Catharina Elmsäter-Svärd and others.
During the two-day event, politician meetings and seminars will be held on sustainable growth based on seas or sea basins, such as the Baltic Sea, the North Sea, the Atlantic and the Arctic. Representatives of the EU Parliament, the European Commission, the Swedish Government and companies in sea-related industries will discuss how they can together create sustainable development.

The Ministry of Enterprise, Energy and Communications will be represented at a stand together with the Ministry of the Environment, the Ministry of Defence and the Swedish Coast Guard. Drop by and meet our officials.
Meet the Minister for Infrastructure
On 21 May at 16.30-17.00, Minister for Infrastructure Catharina Elmsäter-Svärd will be at the stand for 'speed meetings', whereby EMD visitors can meet the Minister for a few minutes to voice their thoughts on maritime policy.

Issues concerning the transport of passengers and goods (roads, air traffic, shipping, railways) in the country and transport between Sweden and other countries. Competition conditions for Swedish transport companies. Infrastructure for roads and railways. International cooperation inter alia in matters concerning the EU Trans-European Transport Network (TEN-T).
